Delhi Robbers Hijacked 950 iPhones Loaded Truck!


This could be termed one of the most dramatic hijacks in the country.



Two men who were hijacking a truck that was carrying 950 iPhones and making off with the devices, which together are worth Rs 2.5 crore.

The incident happened when the truck driver was approaching Vasant Kunj when someone threw a packet containing a red powder into the truck’s cabin. He presumed it to be a prank by children but soon felt his eyes and skin started itching. To relieve himself and get some air, he stopped the truck when the two thieves who were following him, forced their way into the truck at knife point.

The driver immediately filed a police complaint and the Delhi police swung into action. They first traced the truck through CCTV visuals. “When scanning the CCTV footage of the three routes used by the hijackers, the truck. Technical surveillance then helped us identify the culprits,” the deputy police commissioner said.

However, the police have nabbed the robbers within 48 hours of the incident and recovered all the iPhones.

The police identified two former employees of an Apple product supplier in the videos. The two thieves Mehtab Alam and Arman were detained and eventually admitted to the crime.

According to the police the other two were drivers of the company which provided trucks to the distribution firm and they were planning to sell the phones in the grey market in Karol Bagh.
